Our graduating textile designers’ careers are off to a flying start, with some major awards being won at New Designers in London this week.

Chloe Hills has won the Joules award for her ‘‘Great use of colour, innovative collection; interesting techniques used and a contemporary take on florals”. She receives a £500 cash prize, a 2 week paid work placement, a commercial portfolio review by a Senior Designer, and an opportunity to design a mural at the Joules Wells Beach pop up store.

Rihanah Hussain picked up the Hallmark award, having impressed judges with her versatility, use of colour and composition and her quirky style. She’s the second Bath Spa student in a row to win this prize; £500 and an 8 week paid studio placement.

A great start to both of their post degree careers!
