Growing spaces – Bath Spa University

Whether you're a seasoned gardener or just want to pop in and grab some herbs, our allotment is open to the entire Bath Spa community to enjoy.

We have a shared allotment space at Newton Park that’s open to all students to grow fruit and veg, from first time growers to expert gardeners. There are always things to do in the allotments; from planting to weeding, it’s a great place to take a break and spend some time in nature. We have all of the tools and equipment you may need to get growing!

We’ve also opened this space to Southside Youth Connect Centre, allowing growing space for one-to-one sessions with their students, where they can gain a new life skill.

Our Catering team also uses this space. We're currently growing vegetables that can be used in the meal kits provided at the monthly cooking classes which will be starting in the next academic year. From onions to tomatoes, we aim to grow as much as possible in our allotment space to reduce the costs (and carbon footprint!) of our meal kits.

If you’d like to use this space, please email envrionment@bathspa.ac.uk for more information.
